NDIS Community Access & Daily Activity Support in Tasmania

A full life happens out in the world, not stuck at home. It’s coffee with a friend, a swim at the pool, a class you’ve always wanted to try. Community access support helps NDIS participants across Tasmania get out, take part, and feel part of things. At Goodwill Support, we make that possible one outing at a time.

Daily activity support sits right alongside it. While community access focuses on getting out and connecting, daily support helps with the everyday tasks that make independent living work. Together they cover both sides of a good day.

    Who this support is for

This service suits any NDIS participant who wants more connection, more activity, and more independence. You might want help joining a local group, building daily living skills, or simply having someone alongside you as you try something new.

We support people with intellectual disability, physical disability, autism, psychosocial disability, and many other conditions. Wherever you’re starting from, we meet you there and build at your pace.

    What community access looks like

Community access is about doing the things you enjoy, with the right support beside you. A support worker can go with you to a café, the gym, the library, or a local event. They can help you join a sports club, a craft group, or a volunteer team.

The goal is real participation, not just outings. Over time, these experiences build social skills, grow your confidence, and help you form genuine connections. Many people we support start with one short outing a week and grow from there.

Transport is often part of it. We can help you learn public transport routes, or travel with you until you feel confident going solo.

    What daily activity support covers

Daily activity support helps with the practical side of life. That might mean cooking a meal, managing the shopping, keeping on top of the house, or building a routine that works for you.

We focus on skills, not just tasks. Rather than doing everything for you, our workers show you how, then step back as you grow more capable. The aim is steady progress toward the independence you want.

    Why local makes the difference

Knowing the area changes everything. Our Tasmanian team knows the accessible venues, the welcoming groups, and the quiet times that suit people who find crowds hard. In Hobart and Launceston there’s plenty on offer, and in smaller towns we get creative to find the right fit.

We match you with support workers who share your interests where we can. A worker who loves the outdoors, or footy, or art makes the time feel less like a service and more like a genuine connection.

    Common questions

Is community access covered by my NDIS plan? Usually it falls under your Core Supports budget, often “Assistance with Social and Community Participation.” We can help you check your plan and confirm what’s funded.

Can I choose what activities we do? Absolutely. This support is built around your interests and goals. You decide what matters, and we help you get there.

What’s the difference between community access and daily support? Community access focuses on getting out and connecting with others. Daily support focuses on the everyday skills of independent living. Many people use both together.
